Job Sections & Tasks - Organise Field Service Work

Sections and tasks let you break down complex jobs into manageable pieces. Each section can have its own tasks, notes, and media attachments.

Sections are logical groupings within a job. They help organise work that happens in different areas or involves different types of activity.

  1. Open a job and tap “Add Section”
  2. Give the section a name (e.g., “Ground Floor”, “Electrical Systems”)
  3. Optionally add a description
  4. Save

  • View sections: All sections appear in the job detail view
  • Reorder sections: Drag to rearrange
  • Edit sections: Update name or description
  • Delete sections: Remove unwanted sections

Each section can contain multiple tasks — detailed checklist items that guide the field team.

  1. Open a section
  2. Tap “Add Task”
  3. Enter task details:
    • Name: What needs to be done
    • Description: Detailed instructions (optional)

Field teams complete tasks during the job:

  1. Open the section
  2. Tap the checkbox next to each completed task
  3. Add notes about how the task was performed
  4. Take photos to document the work

Notes capture important observations, instructions, or special circumstances within a section.

  1. Open a section
  2. Tap “Add Note”
  3. Write the note content (supports rich text formatting)
  4. Optionally attach photos or videos
  5. Save

Add notes that apply to specific dates:

  • Schedule notes for future visits
  • Document conditions on a particular day
  • Flag recurring issues with timestamps

Create reusable tasks that you can attach to any job:

  • Saved in the organisation’s template library
  • Can be used across multiple jobs and templates
  • Update once to apply to all future jobs

One-off tasks created for a specific job:

  • Not saved to the template library
  • Perfect for unique or unusual requirements
  • Deleted when the job is completed

Attach visual evidence to any section, task, or note:

  • Photos: Capture conditions, completed work, or issues
  • Videos: Record walk-throughs, demonstrations, or inspections
  • Voice notes: Hands-free documentation

All media is timestamped and linked to the specific section or task for complete traceability.
